The panic has set in. I was doing well (ok, not as well as I'd like, but still relatively calm) until last night at this barbecue I was told that usually interns need about 1/2 hour per patient in the morning to preround. So I calculated. 5-6 patients. Rounding at 7:30. I HAVE TO GET THERE AT 5:00. WHICH MEANS I MUST WAKE UP AT 4. FOR FAMILY MEDICINE WARDS.
Cue panic.

Oooh, dude. Dude. As Eric Cartman once said: LAME.
Hows Davis workin out for you? Where's my invite??
You might for the first two weeks or so, but I also am in second month, and really I'm down to 10 minutes a patient or so. Maybe 15 if there are lots of new labs or something. And I could do it in less.
that's the most comforting thing anyone's said to me all week. much appreciated.
Was that true? After two weeks it got so much better. The problem is you rotate after a month or two or three and it starts all over.
And oh crap, it was so hot here, post call I dreamed of trying to find my car in the heat, sweated through the sheets. I can't imagine how I ever lived in Sac...
